- 2 tbsp olive oil

- For the Gravy:
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 beef bouillon cube (or 1 tsp Better Than Bouillon)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce (can substitute with soy sauce)
- Serving:
- 2 cups cooked rice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Green onion, chopped (for garnish)
STEPS
- Marinate the Steak:
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and seasonings. Season the steak and slice into thin strips. Add the sliced steak into the bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for 1 hour up to 24 hours.
- Cook the Rice:
- Wash and cook the rice until fluffy. Set aside.
- Cook the Steak:
- Heat olive oil and (infused) butter in a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated steak and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove steak from the pan and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables:
- In a bowl, toss onion and bell pepper with oil and seasonings
- In the same pan, add the butter, and veggies. Sauté for about 4 minutes until veggies are tender. Remove from heat and set aside with the steak.
- Make the Gravy:
- Add beef broth, beef bouillon, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Stir to combine.
- (Optional) For a darker color, add 2-3 drops of Kitchen Bouquet or Gravy Master.
- In a small container or bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water, shaking/stirring to make a slurry.
- Bring the gravy to a boil, then whisk in the cornstarch mixture. Allow the gravy to thicken, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- Add beef broth, beef bouillon, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Stir to combine.
- Combine and Stew:
- Return the cooked steak and vegetables to the pan with the gravy. Let everything stew together for 1-2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Serve: Serve the pepper steak over a bed of cooked rice and garnish with fresh parsley and green onion.
